Afrofunk Forum Host: David Fox

David Fox is a paleontologist in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Minnesota. He played violin for several weeks when he was six years old before he decided that practicing was no fun, which led his parents to decide that lessons were too expensive. He has regretted quitting the violin for about 18 of the last 31 years and is convinced he would make an awesome Afrofunk violinist had he kept at it. He is an avid music listener with broad tastes that include roots country, hard bop and post bop, reggae, Afrofunk, salsa and other Latin American styles, and alternative rock. He hopes someday to see a Chopteeth show in person and promises not to shout requests for Free Bird.
